Fetal Movement Assessment with LifeWave Technology

The LifeWave Technology utilized 3-6 GHz sound waves to detect motion. This is similar to ultrasound however the benefit is that direct skin contact is not needed. We are assessing if the LifeWave technology can be used to assess fetal movements and thus wellbeing. The first phase of the study is completed with side by side comparison of LifeWave and ultrasound in the evaluation of fetal heart rate, breathing and motion. Heart rate and breathing can be readily assessed. Future studies are being planned for evaluation of multiple gestations and other fetal biophysical parameters.
