Assistant Dean for Development
Sallie-Grace Tate is assistant dean for development at the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis. In that role, she leads the school’s development program and coordinates strategic fundraising initiatives with health system and campus development leaders to sustain the School of Nursing. Tate conducts regional and national outreach and focuses on crafting new long-term strategies to reach the school’s development goals to fund student scholarships, faculty endowments and innovative programs.
A seasoned fundraiser, Tate previously was the regional director of development for the University of Rochester, where she generated philanthropic support from donors in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Florida. From 2007 to 2009, she served as the vice president for advancement at Warren Wilson College, a 1,000-student liberal arts college in Asheville, N.C.
Tate also served as a senior director of development for the College of Engineering at the Iowa State University Foundation, an organization that seeks to inspire philanthropic support for Iowa State University.
Prior to her career in fundraising, Tate was a sales and marketing executive with Poly-Bond Inc., a manufacturer of non-woven fabrics. She earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
