Jon Siiteri, Ph.D., P.A.-C
Assistant Clinical Professor
Jon Siiteri is an assistant clinical professor for the Master of Science – Nurse Practitioner and Master of Health Services – Physician Assistant Studies degree programs at the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis. Siiteri combines his previous experiences as an educator, research scientist and practicing physician assistant to advance the education of health professionals, whether preparing future practitioners or providing training opportunities for current clinicians.
Prior to joining the faculty at UC Davis, he was a urology physician assistant at Stanford Hospital and Clinics. He filled similar roles in clinics throughout Northern California and Minnesota for the past 12 years.
Siiteri launched his career as a research scientist after earning a Doctor of Philosophy in Endocrinology from UC Davis in 1987 and then serving as a research assistant professor at the University of Minnesota Medical School in Minneapolis, where he conducted cell and molecular biology research in mammalian reproduction. He also worked as an instructor in human histology.
Following the completion of physician assistant studies in 1998 at Augsburg College in Minnesota, Siiteri practiced as a physician assistant in urology and other settings for 14 years. During that time, he earned certification in mind-body medicine at the Center for Mind-Body Medicine at Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C.
Siiteri has been published in the Journal of Experimental Zoology, Gamete Research, Biology of Reproduction and Molecular Reproduction and Development. He has also written chapters for four books.
