Hanouvi Agbassekou is a course coordinator at the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing. Prior to joining the School of Nursing team, she provided administrative support to the associate dean in the Office of Student and Resident Diversity at the UC Davis School of Medicine. Previously, she was a program coordinator in a National Science Foundation grant-funded program at UC Davis, the Institute for Complex Adaptive Matter, as well as a program assistant at UC Davis Extension in the Education, Behavioral and Arts Unit. She earned a master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Public Policy at California State University, Sacramento, and a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Togo, West Africa.

Lisa Badovinac is the director of educational strategic planning and programs for the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing. She oversees the development, implementation and evaluation of the school's curriculum and educational programs, as well as designing new programs. Previously, as an executive analyst with the UC Davis School of Medicine Dean's Office, she worked closely with health system leadership to secure the founding $100 million grant from the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation. Badovinac was a software implementation training manager for UC Davis Health System and a global training manager at Oracle Corporation. Badovinac privately tutors foreign exchange students, and was an English teacher in Spain and Peru. Badovinac earned a master’s degree in adult education and workforce development advocacy from CSU Sacramento and graduated from UC Berkeley with a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish Language and Literature.

Dominique Beaumonté is a graduate program coordinator for the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis. Beaumonté, a member of the UC Davis team since 2006, has worked in several capacities here, including recruiter for UC Davis Health System and as leadership coordinator and diversity and retention coordinator at UC Davis. He earned a master’s degree in Higher Education Administration and Educational Leadership from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and a bachelor’s degree in Ethnic Studies with a minor in Journalism and Communications from the University of Oregon, Eugene.

Kelly Byrns is an educational program representative at the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis. She provides program support to the education team at the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis. Byrns assists with logistical details for education and curriculum development. She joined UC Davis in 2007 serving as an administrative assistant for several departments before transitioning to the School of Nursing. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and History from UC Davis.

Man Shan “Ethan” Chan supports the education team as an educational technology representative at the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis. He maintains online class resources and provides curriculum support. Prior to his current position, Chan was a student assistant for the education team and a research assistant at the School of Nursing and a student assistant at the Seed Biotechnology Center at UC Davis. Chan earned a bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry with a minor in Statistics from UC Davis.

Christy Davis is a clinical education program representative at the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis. Davis assists in the placement of students into clinical rotations for the School of Nursing clinical programs and also serves as a liaison between students and administration. Prior to joining the School of Nursing, Davis worked in the field of Public Health where she gained a broad knowledge working as a health educator during her fellowship as a public health associate for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. She also worked in both the Sexually Transmitted Disease Control branch and Vector Borne and Veterinary Public Health Section at the California Department of Public Health. Davis earned a bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences and Community Health Education from California State University, Sacramento. 

Marci DeAnda

Marci DeAnda provides administrative support to the associate dean of academics and the director of educational programs at the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis. Prior to joining the School of Nursing, she provided administrative support to the Organizational Excellence and Disability Management Services departments at UC Davis. Previously, DeAnda worked for Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company located in Novato and Rancho Cordova, Calif., for 30 years in various capacities, including administrative assistant and legal secretary.

Dennis Fong

Dennis Fong is an education technology analyst for the nurse practitioner and physician assistant programs at the School of Nursing, where he provides technical support for distance learning courses, faculty, staff and students. He joined UC Davis Health System in 2009 as a computer resource specialist for the Pediatrics Department at the School of Medicine. Prior to joining UC Davis, Fong worked for 26 years at Hewlett Packard as a support engineer and later as a programmer analyst. He received a WEB Database Application Development program certificate from UC Davis. Fong earned a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science at California State University, Sacramento.

Matt Hente is a course coordinator at the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing. Prior to joining the School of Nursing team, he managed several adult continuing education programs at UC Davis Extension as a professional programs specialist. Previously, he was an editor for print and digital science curricula at McGraw-Hill Education and worked as an education and community development volunteer in the United States Peace Corps. Hente also developed and conducted interactive science programs for Columbus, Ohio's Dynamic Center of Science and Industry and served as a congressional intern in the U.S. House of Representatives. He earned a bachelor’s degree in environmental biology from the University of Dayton.

Lorena Jimenez is a clinical rotations representative responsible for clinical rotation coordination, providing faculty support and assisting in student admissions for the nurse practitioner and physician assistant programs at the School of Nursing. Prior to her current roles, Jimenez was a program representative providing support to lecture speakers and managing lecture schedules for the nurse practitioner and physician assistant programs. Previously, Jimenez worked as an administrative assistant at UC Davis Family Practice Clinic in Sacramento, Calif.

Sheri Kuslak-Meyer is the manager of educational programs for the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing and is responsible for daily operations, process development and implementation of the school’s s education programs. Previously, she managed a Web-based educational outreach program, directed preclinical drug studies and oversaw the research and development department at The Jackson Laboratories. She also taught undergraduate and graduate students at universities in Minnesota and North Carolina. Sheri has a Doctor of Philosophy in Molecular, Cellular, Developmental Biology and Genetics from the University of Minnesota and a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Wisconsin.

Anna Libonati is the manager of student affairs and admissions, responsible for student life and graduate program admissions for the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing.  Prior to joining the school, Libonati was a graduate program coordinator and an undergraduate advisor for the UC Davis Department of Psychology. She was also a graduate student trainee at the Center for Counseling and Diagnostic Services at California State University, Sacramento. She earned a Master of Science Degree in Counseling, specializing in career counseling, from CSU Sacramento, and a Bachelor of Arts in History of Art and Architecture from UC Santa Barbara.

David Patton is the educational technologist for the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis. Prior to joining the school’s team, Patton worked at UC Davis as a technical support consultant. While attending California State University in Sacramento, Patton worked as a help desk technician and technical trainer in the Student Technology Center. Patton was also an academic support technician for Drexel University in Sacramento. Patton has a bachelor’s degree in Social Science and a master’s degree in Educational Technology from CSU, Sacramento.

Laura Peterson is a curriculum analyst for the education team at the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing. Prior to joining the School of Nursing, Peterson worked at UC Davis for eight years as a graduate program coordinator in the Statistics and Physics departments. She also worked as a police services specialist at the Davis Police Department. Peterson graduated from UC Davis with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a minor in Sociology in 2003. She is CPR-certified at the health-care provider level.

Mercedes Piedra-Sullivan oversees the community outreach and student recruitment for the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis. Previously, Piedra-Sullivan was an academic counselor for the UC Davis College of Letters and Science and a program coordinator and recruiter for the UC Davis Office of Graduate Studies. She was a program coordinator at American River College, an academic counselor at California State University, Sacramento, and an internship developer/academic advisor at Cosumnes River College. She earned a master's degree in Counseling with an emphasis on career and school and a bachelor's degree in Psychology from CSU Sacramento.

Isabel Schmitz is a curriculum/data analyst and provides support to the education team with student admissions for the nurse practitioner and physician assistant programs at the School of Nursing. Prior to her current role at the school, she was a student affairs officer for 10 years. Previously, Schmitz served as the director of the Microbiology Laboratory – Center for Research in Animal Nutrition at the University of Costa Rica. She also worked as a clinical researcher with the Jimenez Diaz Foundation in Spain and as a bilingual health educator working with migrant agricultural farm workers throughout California. Schmitz earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Microbiology from Polytechnic University in Madrid, Spain and a Master of Science Degree in Microbiology from the University of Costa Rica.
   

Martha Soto

Martha Soto provides curriculum/classroom support by managing the academic calendar and academic testing coordination for the nurse practitioner and physician assistant programs at the School of Nursing. Soto began her career with the nurse practitioner and physician assistant programs in 1991 as an administrative assistant supporting faculty and staff. Prior to joining UC Davis Health System, she was an office manager at Tiempo Latino Spanish Newspaper in San Francisco. Soto earned two degrees from Masaya National Institute in Nicaragua. She completed certificate programs for Medical Office Technician and Accounting from Lincoln Training Center in Sacramento, Calif. Soto is a member of the UC Davis Health System Hispanic Staff Caucus.
