As lead writer, Rebecca Badeaux is responsible for researching, writing, editing and assisting in the production of School of Nursing publications, marketing collateral, website copy and other communications. Prior to joining the School of Nursing in 2014, Badeaux served as chief strategist for Chase Rainer Media, where she handled company positioning strategy, strategic planning, media training, story placement, crisis management, community relations and issues management for the agency’s clients. Previous to her 10 years at Chase Rainer Media, Badeaux spent more than a decade in the trenches of television newsrooms both as a news anchor and medical reporter. Badeaux received her Master of Science in Journalism from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. She also earned a bachelor’s degree from Duke University in Durham, N.C.

As a senior director, Jenny Carrick oversees the communications and marketing program and staff. Carrick’s main focus is to build a strong, cohesive brand for the new school. Carrick works closely with the school’s leadership team to develop strategic plans and key messages to support the school, its leadership and programs. Prior to joining the School of Nursing in 2008, Carrick served as director of communications, marketing and government relations for the American Red Cross, covering its western region activities, including large-scale disaster responses. Previous to her eight years with the American Red Cross, Carrick worked for 10 years in the news industry as a reporter, editor and news director in both radio and newspaper, including a three-year stint as editor of the Lincoln News Messenger in Lincoln, Calif. Carrick received her Bachelor of Arts in Journalism in 1992 from the University of La Verne, in La Verne, Calif.
