Young, Associate Vice Chancellor for Nursing and Dean, Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC DavisI am delighted to announce that applications are now open for the inaugural classes of the interdisciplinary Nursing Science and Health-Care Leadership Graduate Degree Program in fall 2010.  You can visit our Web site to learn more about how to apply for the Master of Science or Doctor of Philosophy programs.

As I mentioned in my last e-mail to you, we recognize that this first-ever application process comes later than other graduate nursing programs and with a hastened priority deadline. The Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing team and the Nursing Science and Health-Care Leadership Graduate Group faculty are committed to ensuring prospective students receive timely and complete answers to questions as well as receive assistance as necessary to promote a successful application process. Please don’t hesitate to call our office at (916) 734-2145 if you have questions throughout the application process. I am also delighted to highlight the substantial financial support for each student admitted to the inaugural graduate classes, which is made possible by the generosity of the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation. This financial investment reflects our shared commitment to supporting the best and brightest students who share the vision to transform health care through nursing education and research can study here to become future faculty, researchers and leaders.

Each student admitted to the inaugural doctoral and master’s degree classes at the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis will receive substantial financial support for tuition/fees and additional expenses. Master’s degree students will receive $6,700 per quarter for a minimum of five quarters and doctoral degree students will receive at least $20,000 per quarter for 12 quarters.

We recently launched the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis Facebook group for those who would like to chat with others interested in the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing. We hope this will become an interactive setting where you can learn more about the school while also sharing your own thoughts and ideas.
