Population Health Faculty Position Announcement
UC Davis seeks visionary nurse educators and researchers to join the founding faculty of the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing. The new school is seeking two to four faculty emphasizing scholarships in the area of population health including rural, aging and minority populations. The founding faculty will have the unique opportunity to participate in the design, establishment and inception of an extensive faculty or curricula development program, and transform heath care through nursing research and innovative curriculum. Full-time academic positions are available at the assistant, associate or full professor-in-residence series level in Sacramento, Calif., for the doctorate, master’s and baccalaureate degree programs.
The school is founded on five core attributes: interprofessional/interdisciplinary education, scholarship and academic excellence, cultural awareness and sensitivity; innovative technology and leadership.
Qualified candidates must possess a doctorate degree. A Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing Science, with experience in curricula and educational program development, postdoctoral training or academic experience as well as teaching, research and scholarship with areas of emphasis in Population Health preferred. Qualified candidates must also possess a registered nurse license or be eligible for nursing licensure in the state of California. Candidates should demonstrate interest in health research related to rural, aging and minority populations, including health status, health priorities, health disparities, interventions, and outcomes for rural, aging and/or minority populations. Service and professional activities including committee appointments at local, state, regional and national levels as well as publications, participation in and presentations at interdisciplinary and interprofessional education and scientific meetings will be required. Successful candidates will become faculty members in the Nursing Science and Health-Care Leadership Graduate Group (proposed).
