Search for Associate Vice Chancellor of Nursing

The University of California, Davis announces our search for a visionary nursing academic scholar who will lead the creation and implementation of a transformative nursing science program at the new Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing (currently being reviewed by the Academic Senate). The Associate Vice Chancellor for Nursing will hire and direct energetic, innovative faculty who will foster nursing excellence through an expansive educational model that incorporates scientific rigor and immersive, interprofessional education for its students. Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing graduates will advance patient care and safety, prevent and treat disease, and improve access to and quality of care in an ever-changing and increasingly complex health-care system nationwide.

As a campus leader, the Associate Vice Chancellor will impart a transformative vision for nursing education. Additionally, the Associate Vice Chancellor will demonstrate his/her commitment to diversity and community as manifested by recruiting efforts for students and faculty, a commitment to outreach to medically underserved communities, and excellent communication skills for effective interactions with a wide variety of audiences. Successful candidates also will hold an earned doctorate from an accredited college or university and exhibit evidence of an exemplary track record as an innovative leader in nursing education and research, which may include active status as a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing. National accreditation self-study process/accreditation experience and a sustained history of funded scholarship is also preferred.

The University of California, Davis is one of the nation’s top public research universities and is part of the world’s preeminent public university system. The academic health center is on a 140-acre campus in Sacramento, California. The Sacramento campus is home to UC Davis Medical Center, the Primary Care Network, Shriner’s Children’s Hospital, the M.I.N.D. Institute, the NCI-designated Cancer Center, the new Center for Education, the Telemedicine Resource Center and Rural-Program in Medical Education (PRIME) Facility, and other clinical and research centers including the newly NIH-funded Clinical Translational Research Center.
