The Robert and Jacqueline Bates Award in Nursing
Robert and Jacqueline Bates established this fund to provide financial assistance to School of Nursing students as they pursue their education.
G. Russell and Sharon Bell Scholarship
G. Russell Bell and Sharon A. Bell established this endowed scholarship to benefit one student or more each year at the School of Nursing. Russell Bell serves on the National Advisory Council, a group of leaders that advises the school on strategy and provides input on long-range plans.
Allen D. Tate, M.D. and Nora Cook Tate Memorial Scholarship for Nursing Leadership
Sallie-Grace Tate, assistant dean for development at the School of Nursing, established this endowed scholarship in memory of her parents, who gave to further the health and well-being of their neighbors, family and community. This award continues their service to others through scholarship support to one or more students each year at the School of Nursing.
Correne E. Treguboff Endowed Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship was established in memory of former faculty member Correne E. Treguboff to support students in the Master of Science— Nurse Practitioner and Master of Health Services — Physician Assistant programs.
Khanuma Blake Fund for Gerontological Nursing
This fund supports students with an interest in geriatric care, supervision and research.
The Brunner Family Endowed Scholarship for Nursing Leadership
Daniel and Rhea Brunner established this unrestricted scholarship to provide support in perpetuity to students at the School of Nursing.
Natalie F. Bush, M.S.N., and Wes Bush Scholarship
Natalie F. Bush and Wes Bush established this endowed scholarship to provide support to one student or more each year at the School of Nursing. Natalie Bush is a nurse and philanthropist who serves on the school’s National Advisory Council, a group of leaders that advises the school on strategy and provides input on long-range plans.
Sharon A. Middlebrook Burke Scholarship Fund
This award generously supports female nursing students who have demonstrated academic achievements and the motivation to overcome challenges.
Busch Family Endowed Fund
Douglas and Julie Busch established this scholarship to support School of Nursing students in perpetuity.
The Michael and Renée Child Endowed Scholarship Fund
This fund, established by UC Davis alumni Michael and Renée Child, provides scholarship support to one or more students each year.
The Michael and Carol Corbett Endowed Award Fund
This award supports students who demonstrate a commitment to increasing diversity in the health-care professions.
The Caroline Dare Fund Nursing Scholarship
Caroline Dare was the Associate Director of Hospital and Clinics/Director of Nursing at UC Davis Medical Center as the hospital transitioned from Sacramento County Hospital and she helped redefine the role of nursing. This scholarship will support the next generation of nurse leaders.
The Amy T. Dean Courage Award
Bernie Davitto established this award in memory of his late wife, community leader Amy T. Dean. The award will support students committed to clinical practice or research about end-of-life issues, and students who have overcome obstacles to pursue their graduate education.
The Eager Family Endowed Nursing Award
This award will provide financial support to one or more School of Nursing students each year.
The Jonas Center for Nursing Excellence Scholarship
The goal of the Jonas Nurse Leaders Scholar Program is to increase the number of doctorally prepared faculty available to teach in nursing schools nationwide. The program awards scholarships in all 50 states, plus the District of Columbia.
The Fields-Messersmith Family Endowed Award
This award will assist nursing, medical or public health students at UC Davis Health System who are interested in the health and psychological needs of at-risk children, specifically children from birth through five years of age.
Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing Founding Team Scholarship
Founding members of the school’s team created this scholarship in 2010 to show their passion for the school and its vision.
The Jennie W. Gardner Nursing Scholarship
This fund honors Jennie W. Gardner, a public-health nurse and a member of the California State Nursing Association Committee on Legislation who was instrumental in passing the Registered Nursing Practice Act in 1941.
Hersted Fund for Pediatric Nursing
The Hersted Fund supports pediatric nursing studies, with a special focus on community-based care.

The Jackson Family Endowed Fund
This fund will provide financial support to students at the School of Nursing. Eventually, it will be pooled with donations from other donors to create a $1 million Impact Fund for Nursing Scholarships.
Teri A. Lown, R.N., O.C.N., Educational Award in Oncology Nursing
This fund supports students interested in careers as nurse educators, researchers or clinicians who specialize in oncology. The fund also supports faculty research in clinical oncology.
Nursing Science and Health-Care Leadership Student and Alumni Fund
Established by the School of Nursing’s inaugural master’s degree and doctoral classes during the first week of class in fall 2010, this scholarship fund has now expanded to include gifts from students and other supporters of the school.
Pomeroy Robertson Family Endowed Scholarship
Created by Vice Chancellor and School of Medicine Dean Claire Pomeroy and her husband, this fund supports a student who best meets the transformative ideals of the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing.
The Quinby-Young Scholarship for Healthy Aging
Founding Dean Heather M. Young, and her husband, Peter Quinby, established this fund in honor of their parents and grandparents and in memory of Melissa Calhoun. The award will support graduate students with a clinical, educational or research focus on advancing health for older adults.
Schneider Family Scholarship for Nursing Leadership
The Schneider Family Foundation at The San Diego Foundation established this endowed scholarship to support students at the School of Nursing. Both Shauna Schneider and Philip M. Schneider received bachelor’s degrees at UC Davis and share a passion for improving health care.
Senior Citizens of Davis Award
The Senior Citizens of Davis developed this fund for interdisciplinary research projects conducted at a senior center in Yolo County.
Sandy Smoley Endowed Award
This award will further the education of one or more School of Nursing students each year.
Allen D. Tate, M.D., and Nora Cook Tate Memorial Scholarship for Nursing Leadership
Sallie-Grace Tate, assistant dean for development at the School of Nursing, established this endowed scholarship in memory of her parents. Married for 63 years, Dr. and Mrs. Tate shared a spirit of service in their North Carolina community which inspires this memorial scholarship. Together, the Tates gave of themselves to further the health and well-being of their neighbors, family and community. This award continues their service to others through scholarship support to one or more students each year at the School of Nursing.
Helen F. Hansen Endowment Fund
Students in the Master of Science — Nurse Practitioner program receive scholarship support from this fund established by the estate of Helen F. Hansen.
Helen M. Thomson Scholarship for Nursing Leadership
In honor of Helen Thomson’s accomplishments as a registered nurse, health policymaker and member of the Yolo County Board of Supervisors, Thomson’s family, friends and staff established a scholarship in her honor on the occasion of her retirement. The scholarship will support the school’s diverse, talented students.
Constant M. and Tempest B. van Vlierden Scholarship in Nursing
Mr. Van Vlierden greatly respected the importance of nursing and was passionate about Marin County. This award is made to one or more nursing students each year.
Volunteer Services Nursing Scholarship
The Volunteer Services Advisory Board was a group of community volunteers who supported fundraising for programs, equipment and scholarships for UC Davis Health System. Before disbanding, the board’s final act was to establish this scholarship at the School of Nursing.
UC Davis Nurses’ Scholarship Fund
This student scholarship is one of two funds created through a grassroots fundraising effort led by UC Davis Health System nurses.
Weborg and Singer Family Endowed Scholarship Fund
Tom Weborg and Sandra L. Singer created this scholarship through a bequest to support School of Nursing students on an ongoing basis.
Students at the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing will be notified about scholarship opportunities after enrolling in the school.

Dignity Health Dean's Chair for Nursing Leadership
This fund will advance the field of nursing education through its support of the school’s teaching, research and outreach activities.
The Impact Fund for Nursing Research
This fund, made up so far of the Kay Lehr Endowment and the Raley's Endowed Fund, will support research projects at the School of Nursing. These contributions will be pooled with donations from up to 20 donors to create a $1 million Impact Fund for Nursing Research.
UC Davis Nurses’ Research Fund
This research fund is one of two funds created through a grassroots fundraising effort led by UC Davis Health System nurses.
Western Health Advantage Professorship
This fund will provide financial support for teaching, research, or outreach for the individual who is named to the professorship and may also support other activities that further the mission of the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing.
