WHAT:	“Inside the Darkside: An Insider’s Look at the Truth About Tobacco Addiction and What the Tobacco Companies Don’t Want You to Know,” is the story of a former research scientist for Philip Morris whose findings were suppressed by the company.

WHO:	Victor DeNoble was a senior researcher at Philip Morris from 1980-84..

BACKGROUND:	At Philip Morris, DeNoble conducted studies on nicotine and addiction, using rats. The company did not allow DeNoble to discuss his findings and eventually fired him and shut down his laboratory. DeNoble subsequently became a key witness against the tobacco industry, and his testimony helped lead to a multibillion-dollar settlement between 48 states and the seven leading tobacco companies.
