WHAT:	“Match Day” is an emotional and defining moment for senior medical students at UC Davis and other schools throughout the nation. On this day in March each year, medical students open individual letters to learn where they will spend the next one to five years of training to become licensed to practice medicine. The placements are based on a computerized matching program that ranks students’ choices of training program with the preferences of the training directors who interviewed student applicants.

WHO:	One hundred senior medical students at UC Davis who are in the company of friends and family will open the letters that match them to a specific hospital-based residency training program.

WHEN:	Thursday, March 17, 2005 8 - 8:30 a.m. students arrive and anticipate receiving the letters 9 a.m. letters distributed and opened

WHERE:	Mondavi Center, Studio Theatre Parking: available in the parking structure next to Mondavi. Directions: I-80 West to UC Davis exit, follow signs to Mondavi Center
