LECTURE HIGHLIGHTS NEW ADVANCES IN ADHD

WHAT:

“A Window Into the Minds of Children and Adults with ADHD,” part of the Minds Behind the M.I.N.D. lecture series, will highlight key features of the disorder and new understanding of attention deficits and brain functions. The UC Davis M.I.N.D. Institute  will soon launch a research program and clinic focused on ADHD.

   
WHEN: Thursday, October 18, 2007, 6-7:30 p.m.

WHO: Julie Schweitzer, associate professor of psychiatry and behavioral sciences, is a M.I.N.D. Institute ADHD researcher who combines genetic, brain imaging and behavioral data to develop targeted, effective interventions for specific types of the disorder.
   
WHY:

Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder is the most common childhood psychiatric disorder, affecting daily life and functioning for 3 to 5 percent of school-aged children in the United States. ADHD is a chronic, lifelong illness requiring long-term treatment strategies.

   
COST:

There is no charge for this event and reservations are not required. Parking is $2.
