"PAINTING FOR MIRACLES" FEATURES ART INSPIRED BY CHILDREN FACING MEDICAL CHALLENGES

Second Saturday silent auction benefits UC Davis Children's Hospital

WHAT:

More than 20 local artists representing diverse creative styles — graffiti, multi-media, air brush and more — will exhibit their work at the “Painting for Miracles” reception, art show and silent auction. Their pieces — all painted on wood — interpret stories about kids from throughout the nation who have overcome medical challenges. Auction proceeds benefit Children's Miracle Network, which has provided more than $10 million for research, education and patient-care programs at UC Davis Children's Hospital.

   
WHEN: Saturday, October 14, 6 to 9 p.m.
Auction closes at 8:30 p.m. Admission free. Refreshments and music included.

WHO: Hosts of this Second Saturday event are The Sacramento Ad Club's Creative Wood and ZAP Creative Group. Featured artists include James Goodchap, Mark Pedras, Robby Woodard, Dennis Spear, Lynn Malmberg and Trever Barker.
   
BACKGROUND:

UC Davis Children's Hospital is the region's only comprehensive hospital for children. From primary care offices to specialty and intensive care clinics, pediatric experts provide compassionate care to more than 74,000 children each year. UC Davis also offers the only level 1 pediatric emergency and trauma center in northern California. Children's Miracle Network is a national alliance dedicated to raising funds for children's hospitals.
