HOSPITAL CRITICAL CARE SPECIALISTS
October 1, 2004
| WHAT: |
UC
Davis Children’s Hospital is strengthening its commitment
to teaching and working with regional air and ground ambulance
providers to enhance services for critically ill and injured
infants and children. The first training session that unites
the critical care transport team at UC Davis Children’s
Hospital with first responders, paramedics, emergency medical
technicians and flight nurses from the Sacramento region began
this week. The nine-day program includes an afternoon of classes
and hands-on training at Sacramento
Executive Airport, which is open to reporters. Using helicopters,
fixed wing aircrafts and ground ambulances, the day of training
includes a review of altitude physiology, flight safety, and
stressors of flight and allows participants to practice loading
and unloading patients, handling equipment, and working as
part of a team. |
