Feb. 1, 2007

(SACRAMENTO, Calif.) Sacramento's fourth annual St. Baldrick's Day public shearing party to raise money for childhood cancer research will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, March 16, at UC Davis Cancer Center, 4501 X St. Along with head shaving, the event will include a raffle and kids' activities.

To part with your hair at the event, pre-register online at http://www.stbaldricks.org/. Or, support the cause without losing your locks by making an online donation.

The event is sponsored by the Keaton Raphael Memorial, a Roseville-based nonprofit that supports pediatric cancer research and programs at UC Davis Cancer Center. The organization also hosts an annual St. Baldrick's event in Roseville. The local celebrations raised more than $242,000 to support pediatric cancer research at UC Davis Cancer Center and nationally through the Children's Oncology Group.
