Gadovist® MRI Research Study
PI: Jonathan Hartman, M.D. (Radiology), Co-PI: Rudolph Schrot, M.D. (Neurological Surgery)
A Multi-center, double-blind, randomized, controlled, parallel group, dose comparison study with corresponding blinded image evaluation following a single intravenous injection of three different doses of gadobutrol 1.0 molar (Gadovist®) in patients with known or highly suspected focal blood brain barrier disturbances and/or abnormal vascularity of the central nervous system
The objective is to compare a new MRI contrast agent, Gadovist (Gadobutrol 1.0M) to an already established gadolinium-based contrast agent in evaluation of enhancing lesions of the CNS. A secondary objective is to evaluate the agent for MR perfusion imaging of tumors or other enhancing lesions. This is a Phase II trial that is being conducted at 20 sites in the U.S. and South America. The MRI’s are performed at the Imaging Research Center.
