Rudolph J. Schrot

Philosophy of Care

There is only one bottom line in medicine - ministering to the needs of the patients and their families. I chose neurosurgery because of my passion for understanding the nervous system and out of a strong desire to see the positive results of my efforts. I avoid a "cookie-cutter" approach, but deal with each patient individually, responding to the best of my ability to the unique nature of each person's problem. I am committed to providing the most cutting-edge treatment for surgical diseases of the nervous system. I am particularly interested in searching out new and promising treatments for brain tumors. It is an honor and privilege to serve on the clinical faculty in neurological surgery at UC Davis. Dr. Schrot is experienced in general neurosurgery, with a focus on intrinsic brain tumors and degenerative spinal disorders. He is also skilled in computer-assisted stereotaxy and neuroendoscopy. His research interests focus on brain tumors and stem cells.
