Neurological Surgery Residency
We participate in the National Matching Program for Neurological Surgery with one new person appointed to the program each year. One year of general or basic surgery in an approved hospital in the United States or Canada is required before beginning the residency. This requirement may be satisfied by a surgical internship or a year as a resident in surgery. A copy of the application for our program in Neurological Surgery will be forwarded to the Department of Surgery for the internship program. If you match in Neurological Surgery here, it is expected that you will satisfy the surgical requirement in the General Surgery Department here at UC Davis. In addition to neurological surgery, there are approved residencies in all of the other disciplines including neurology, pathology, radiology , orthopedics and ophthalmology which are of direct interest to neurological surgery.
