The Department of Neurology offers a wide range of services from daily clinics to state-of-the-art laboratories staffed with certified technicians.

Clinics

The department offers 15 adult specialty clinics as well a general neurological clinic, ranging from daily to monthly. Daily pediatric clinics are located at:

Neurophysiology labs

Clinical neurophysiology labs at the UC Davis Medical Center are located on the fifth floor of the main hospital building. Information and appointments are available Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • The accredited Sleep Disorders Laboratory evaluates patients with a modern laboratory and in collaboration with the Departments of Otolaryngology, and Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine.
  • The Electromyography (EMG) Laboratory tests for nerve and muscle disorders using electromyograms, nerve conduction studies and single muscle fiber testing.
  • The Electroencephalograph (EEG) Laboratory can monitor brain electrical function for hours, overnight or for extended periods of time. Ambulatory EEG monitoring is also available. The laboratory can also perform prolonged recordings from electrodes surgically implanted on the surface of the brain or into certain regions of the brain depth in individuals being evaluated for epilepsy surgery.

EMG facilites are available at the Mather Veterans Affairs hospital. An EEG laboratory is also being developed and will be functional in 2007.
