Clinical & Research Interests
Andrew J. Gabor is a recognized authority on epilepsy. During his 30 years at UC Davis, he chaired the Department of Neurology and served 18 years as Director of Clinical Neurophysiology. Gabor's numerous publications include a book chapter on post-traumatic epilepsy. He has been an editorial board member for the Journal of Clinical Neurophysiology and is a consulting editor for the Journal of Electroencephalography and Clinical Neurophysiology.
Gabor's research interests include pathophysiological mechanisms of epilepsy, experimental epilepsy with respect to mechanisms of neural aggregate response, automated electrographic seizure recognition, and neural networks. He has led studies involving epileptic seizure recognition in the EEG, neuronal interaction of epileptogenic focus, and miniature postsynaptic potentials in the epileptogenic cortex.
