Dr. Flynn is a Professor of Medicine has devoted the past 15 years of his career to HIV-1 clinical care, epidemiology and prevention of HIV-1 infection among IDU, and conducting clinical trials. He has published articles in refereed journals on treatment of AIDS wasting syndrome, blood levels of AZT, seroprevalence, behavioral risk factors and prevention of HIV-1 among IDU, the effectiveness of disinfectants used by IDU, and behavior change in IDU in response to interventions. He has been instrumental in the development of CARES, serving as its Medical Director for 6 years, and currently as its Research Director. He is well suited to promoting interdisciplinary research among clinical, epidemiological and prevention teams.
