What are Sensory Issues?
Many disabilities involve sensory processing challenges and hyper or hypo-sensitivity to sensory input. A person with a sensory processing disorder finds it difficult to process and act upon information received through the senses. A person with hyper-sensitivity may find certain sensory input too intense and unpleasant; for example bright lights, strong smells, or certain textures. Hypo-sensitivity is having low sensitivity to sensory input.
