Research Projects and Clinical Studies

To achieve its mission, the UC Davis M.I.N.D. Institute conducts an integrated, multidisciplinary research effort at UC Davis. Faculty from many disciplines ranging from developmental pediatrics and epidemiology to immunology and molecular genetics, work together on a broad spectrum of research studies. Our research efforts are designed to:

  • Delineate the similarities and differences among children with autism
  • Evaluate the role of environmental factors in autism
  • Identify a biomarker of autism in infants
  • Understand the role of the fragile X gene in behaviors and cognition
  • Pilot new interventions and treatments for autism, fragile X and learning disorders
