Dr. Mastergeorge is a cultural-developmental and educational psychologist who also holds a clinical license in speech and language pathology. She joined the UC Davis faculty in 2002, moving from UCLA where she directed longitudinal evaluations of school reforms, developed accommodations for students with disabilities, and designed case studies and ethnographic studies of students in collaborative learning environments. Her research interests include understanding the culture of families with disabilities, issues in treatment efficacy, models for guiding learning and apprenticeships, and implications of school reform in learning environments. More recent research interests include studies of the ontogeny of joint attention in longitudinal studies of typical and autism at-risk populations.
