The UC Davis MIND Institute is dedicated to providing education outreach to parents, patients, educators, and the community. We also offer innovative research, training seminars, lecture, and interdisciplinary training for students, researchers, and clinicians.
The UC Davis MIND Institute’s Distinguished Lecturer Series is now in its 10th season of public lectures by nationally and internationally-recognized researchers in neurodevelopmental disorders. These monthly presentations (October 2011 - June 2012) are intended for both specialists and community members. All lectures are free and open to the public and no reservations are necessary. This 15-unit, university-level program provides advanced coursework designed to help educators and licensed clinical professionals strengthen their clinical competencies and communicate effectively about characteristics, current research and evidence-based practices related to autism spectrum disorders. Participants conduct observational and literary research, study methods for evaluating fidelity of implementation of best practices (assessment, intervention planning and peer support) and receive guided feedback on their own implementation.
