Research

Dr. Hansen is the Director of Clinical Programs at the MIND Institute and the founding Director and PI of the DHHS funded UC Davis Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (CEDD), whose primary mandates include interdisciplinary training, community outreach, research and dissemination. She is a co-director of the IDDRC Clinical Translation Core. Her research has been focused for over a decade on gene-environment interactions related to causes and early identification of autism spectrum disorders, and biomedical treatments for neurodevelopmental disorders. As a board-certified developmental behavioral pediatrician involved in clinical care, research and training in neurodevelopmental disorders for almost three decades, she has extensive professional and personal ties to community and state agencies as well as families and community advocates.
