Families share

The Eversons
The BEARS Tissue Program is dedicated to the donors and their families, whose care, love, and generosity make possible the precious gift of tissue donation.
The Families share page was created to allow donor families to share their stories and experiences regarding brain tissue donation and memories of their loved ones. We would like for these families’ voices to be heard, and for their stories to provide a source of comfort to others going through similar experiences.
If you are a parent or caregiver of a brain tissue donor, and would like to share your personal experience on this page, please contact us at MINDBEARS@ucdavis.edu. It would be helpful if you can include a picture and short description of the donor in addition to your story within the e-mail.
We are thankful for your interest and contribution to the Brain Endowment for Autism Research Sciences (BEARS) Program, and will continue to provide support for you and your family.

brain tissue donor
"We miss Grayson very much, although being able to allow him to give back to autism research has been very comforting to us. Your efforts give us hope that someday we will all be closer to finding that needle in the haystack, to best help others. How amazing your work is."
—Valerie Hund, mother of Grayson Hund
