ADHD Behavioral Parent Education Workshop

Children diagnosed with ADHD often exhibit challenging and disruptive behaviors at home. The Parent Education and Behavioral Strategies workshop is an integral component of the comprehensive treatment for ADHD offered by the UC Davis MIND Institute ADHD Program.

The primary goals of the Parent Education Workshop is to enhance parent-child interaction, establish a structured and predictable home environment, and improve coordination between home and school. Topics covered include the academic rights of children with ADHD, understanding pharmacological treatment and medication, behavior management, and strategies for emotional regulation.

The workshop is designed for parents or guardians of children diagnosed with ADHD, aged between 4 and 11. They are conducted three times a year (Spring, Fall, and Winter), with each session scheduled once a week for 10 weeks, each session lasting 90 minutes. The registration fee for each session is $40.00, and currently, the workshop is not eligible for insurance billing.

It's important to note that the workshop is not intended for families in crisis. Those in immediate crisis may be better served by a therapeutic crisis intervention modality or a higher level of care.
