Getting started
Men's Health Program at UC Davis
HOW IT WORKS
During an initial one-hour consultation, a male UC Davis internal medicine physician will conduct a uniquely detailed, confidential review of your medical history, family history and lifestyle. To help guide your visit, you will receive a comprehensive questionnaire with specific questions designed to identify a wide range of risks and symptoms that you may not recognize, or may not perceive as significant.
After you are seen by the Men’s Health internist, you will be seen by a urologist who has received advanced training in men’s reproductive health. This visit will focus on issues related to prostate and urinary health, sexual function, fertility or infertility, and male hormones.
These appointments feature a positive atmosphere and are designed to help you to make personal decisions for yourself about how to live longer, remain active, safeguard your sexual function and fertility, and recognize major problems early. You will also receive a written, personalized care plan that details actions to retain and improve your health.
You may also be referred to a UC Davis specialist in cardiology, vascular medicine, endocrinology, sports medicine or other areas for further education, screenings or treatment.
