Therapists for Medical Students, Residents, and Faculty
The following is not an exhaustive list, but identifies providers who have volunteered to be listed as eager to provide services to UC Davis Health System medical students, residents, and faulty. Please identify yourself as a UC Davis Health System medical student, resident, or faculty member when inquiring about appointments.
Medical Students Please Note: Medical students have free, confidential, counseling services through UC Davis Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), both at a satellite office on the medical campus in Sacramento, and on the main campus in Davis. To make an appointment, call CAPS at (530) 752-0871 and ask to leave a message for one of the psychologists who work with the medical students: Karin Nilsson, Ph.D., and Thomas Roe, Psy.D. You can also email them directly at: medschoolcaps@ucdavis.edu. Either way, a therapist will contact you back within two business days.
Additionally, walk-in appointments for urgent counseling needs are available in Davis at the main campus, Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm. Currently walk-in services are not available in Sacramento, but same-day appointments are available sometimes, please call ahead for availability.
Residents Please Note: As a resident you have free, confidential, therapy services through the GME Office located at the UC Davis Medical Center. To make an appointment call Dr. Margaret Rea at (916) 734-0676.
Faculty Please Note: As a faculty member you have free, confidential, therapy services through the Academic and Staff Assistance Program (ASAP) located in the Human Resources department at the UC Davis Medical Center. To make an appointment please call (916) 734-2727.
