Why choose UC Davis?
Making it all work: financial aid, housing and health insurance
-
Financial aid. Don't let the costs of medical school hinder your decision to become a physician. The UC Davis School of Medicine financial aid office provides prospective and enrolled students with plenty of information and resources to help financially support your educational goals.
-
Grants and scholarships. UC Davis has its own grants and scholarship programs and all accepted applicants are considered for these awards. UC Regents scholarships in academic excellence, for example, are $7,500 and renewable for a total of four years. University grants, based on financial need and parental information, range up to $10,000. Our financial aid staff also will help you find other grants and scholarships to defray the cost of medical school.
-
Housing. UC Davis Health System does not have onsite housing. However, a variety of reasonably priced apartments, condos/town homes, and single-family houses are available for rent in the community around the Sacramento campus.
-
Health insurance. Student health insurance for medical students is currently available through Western Health Advantage.
