Acceptable additions to the fees category of the basic student expense budget include:
- Laboratory fees
- Fees associated with research or away-electives (within the continental U.S.)
- Licensing exam fees (only if required for graduation when waiver is not available)
- Fees associated with the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE)*
*Exam fees for USMLE Step 1 and Step 2 (Clinical Skills and Clinical Knowledge) can be documented after the student has registered and paid for the exams. Provide proof of registration and payment by submitting a copy of the registration application form (showing the fees charged and paid).
