Bowe College encourages students to help set the tone and direction of the activities. The college includes approximately 100 students, 25 College Faculty and College Co-Directors.
Upon arrival at medical school, students in Bowe College are welcomed into an "advising family" consisting of a College Faculty advisor and four students spanning the training years. Working together, the family provides collegial support and advice on how each student can optimize their personal growth, learning and professional development while at UC Davis School of Medicine.
The College Faculty play an important role in helping students to recognize their personal interests, strengths and areas for improvement. As students advance in their training, the College Faculty support students in periodically reviewing their progress, selecting elective rotations and connecting to experiences and faculty to assist them in career planning.
Bowe College has an active student council with a goal of planning one event per month in 2008.
The college Co-Directors Jane Yeun, MD (firstname.lastname@example.org) and Randall Lee, MD (email@example.com) provide organizational oversight and serve as facilitators for student initiated social/academic events and service projects.
