Choosing a specialty
By this stage of medical school, you should have collected information on all of the possible career tracks as a physician. You are now able to begin comparing the things you learned about yourself in phase one, and can begin to apply these to the experiences that you will be exposed to during your third year. Using this knowledge combined with these experiences, you should begin to identify the residency that you will pursue during your fourth year.
- Continue to meet with your faculty mentor
- Complete the AAMC Careers in Medicine and ePortfolio assessments
- Collect and review your pre- and post-clerkship evaluations
- Set up fourth-year electives.
- Attend the residency application workshop
- Write your personal statement
