Residency advisers are specific UC Davis faculty who have volunteered to serve as mentors to medical students. Use these specialty linked advisors to help answer questions about careers in that specialty, applying for residency in that specialty or perhaps setting up shadowing opportunities within a specialty.
Use these specialty specific advisers in conjunction with the mentors who were assigned to you through the colleges. Also use your college director if you run into any difficulties contacting the identified advisers or mentors.
John Owings M.D., assistant dean for student affairs and career counseling is also available to meet with you to discuss your career plans and help you access the resources that are available to you.
