Gail is responsible for reviewing and tracking grants and contracts for School of Medicine faculty, including comprehensive statistical and budgetary analysis of submitted research proposals. Gail is also the central coordinator for research construction and renovation projects directed by the Office of Sponsored Programs.

Stephanie is the Administrative Assistant for the Office of Sponsored Programs, and maintains the Human Subjects log, Grant applications, and room reservations (TB's). She also handles office purchase ordering and DaFIS administration.

Lonna is the primary contact for funding opportunities. In addition, she designs and maintains School of Medicine Office of Research Web sites; disseminates research funding opportunities and oversee several listservs; collaborates with departments to develop business applications; and assists faculty and staff in the use of electronic media for funding search and grant preparation.

Animal Survival Surgery

This unit is a surgical research facility, in compliance with NIH, AAALAC, and USDA standards. The facility and services are available on a recharge basis. Instruction in surgical techniques is available. Surgical instruments, drapes, anesthesia machines, scrub suits, and equipment for monitoring vital signs and physiologic parameters are available. Staff are available to assist with or perform surgical procedures depending on investigator's requirements. Also, staff are available for post operative care and collection of samples and data.

This unit manages the glasswashing, sterilization, and water distilling facilities for the School of Medicine. This includes monitoring the operation of the equipment to ensure adherence to quality control and safety standards, as well as acting as the principal contact with equipment contractors for service and repairs.
