Microarray Core Facility - Equipment
Fluidics Station 450
The Fluidics Station 450 automates the introduction of the nucleic acid target to the probe array cartridge and controls the delivery of reagents. With a modular design, each fluidics station independently processes up to four probe arrays at one time.
Hybridization Oven 640
The Hybridization Oven 640 holds up to eight probe array cartridge carriers (each with eight cartridge slots) that rotate for controlled hybridization of up to 64 probe arrays. This hybridization oven delivers precise temperature control for consistent performance across all probe array applications.
3000 GeneChip Scanner with Autoloader
The 3000 GeneChip Scanner is designed to measure the intensity of fluorescence of labeled sample nucleic acid (RNA and DNA) bound to GeneChip probe arrays. The scanner has the ability to focus to a spot size of less than 1 micron. This level of precision also allows for future development of higher density probe synthesis on GeneChip probe arrays. The Autoloader allows us to scan up to 48 chips in a single run.
GMS 417 Arrayer
The Genetic Microsystems 417 Arrayer is capable of spotting up to 42 treated microscope slides simultaneously, using cDNA or oligonucleotide solutions, or other substrates, in a 96 or 384-well microtitre plate format. The array pattern, spot density, and number of replicates are user defined.
Affymetrix 428 Array Scanner
The Affymetrix 428 Array Scanner is a digital confocal laser scanning epifluorescent microscope for viewing fluorescent-dye tagged samples on slides. The scanner is equiped with a 532nm and a 635nm laser and converts laser-induced fluorescence into gray-scaled binary data or false-colored data.
