Stem cells got me back on my feet
Meet Arsenia Harrison, a woman with boundless positivity.
When severe peripheral artery disease led to leg pain and the threat of amputation, Arsenia turned to UC Davis Vascular Center for help.
After participating in a clinical trial to study the ability of the body's own stem cells to regenerate blood vessels, she's on her feet, playing with her grandchildren and living life to the fullest.
“Arsenia is a great success story. She'd be the poster child for stem-cell therapies.”
— John R. Laird, M.D., medical director, UC Davis Vascular Center
