Chief Operating Officer, UC Davis Medical Center
Brad Simmons is Chief Operating Officer of UC Davis Medical Center, where he is responsible for integrating UC Davis Health's strategic goals into efficient day-to-day operations at the medical center and its outpatient offices.
Simmons’ duties extend from the busy level I trauma centers at UC Davis Medical Center and UC Davis Children's Hospital to facilities, professional services, health information management and other key logistical and support functions. He leads the operations of clinical departments and divisions responsible for emergency care, surgical services, managed care and outpatient services, including a network of primary care offices extending from Auburn to Elk Grove.
Simmons’ varied responsibilities also include oversight of facilities operations on UC Davis' 140-acre Sacramento campus, home to more than 3 million square feet of buildings and a suite of major expansion projects.
Simmons previously served as chief operating officer at Saint Luke’s Hospital of Kansas City, part of Saint Luke’s Health System and a 611-bed, nationally recognized tertiary, teaching and research hospital. It includes the internationally known Mid America Heart Institute and the Marion Bloch Neuroscience Center, and is a Malcolm Baldridge Quality Award recipient and a three-time Magnet-designated facility.
Simmons and his wife, Angie, have a 10-year-old terrier and enjoy travel and trying new restaurants and cuisines.
