Psychiatric services

Psychiatric services at the Student Wellness Clinic are free and confidential. You will not need to use your health insurance here (except as needed to cover the cost of medications prescribed).

Kent B. Hart, M.D. is a clinical professor in psychiatry and has been on the volunteer faculty since 1975. He was Interim Director of Child Psychiatry Training for two years in the 1990’s. After graduating with a Bachelor in Arts in Philosophy at Stanford University, he received his M.D. from the University of Utah. After serving in the Air Force during the Vietnam war, Dr. Hart completed his Residency in psychiatry at UC Davis. In addition to starting his private practice in Davis, he completed training in adult, child, and adolescent psychoanalysis at the San Francisco Psychoanalytic Institute. Over the past several years, Dr. Hart has supervised general psychiatry residents, child fellows, and taught courses on psychotherapy.
