How meglitinides work

  • Works on the pancreas to increase insulin production

Guidelines for use

  • Take 0-30 minutes before meal
  • Must be taken only with meals
  • May be prescribed with other medications for treatment of diabetes

What to do if a dose is forgotten

  • It can be taken if it is less than 2 hours from your normal dosing time
  • Do not take 2 doses at the next meal

Side effects

  • Low blood sugar

Who should NOT take this medication

  • Some people with kidney or liver disease may need to adjust their dose
  • Pregnant women
