Strategies for Control

Strategies for Control is a 2 hour practical workshop focusing on the tools and techniques needed to be your own diabetes self-manager. Learn how food choices, activity, medications and more impact you blood sugar numbers and how you can improve. Explore strategies for blood sugar monitoring. If you have a blood sugar meter please bring it with you to class. Recommended for anyone interested in understanding and improving blood sugar monitoring techniques and strategies. Discussion will include:

  • When to test blood sugar
  • What your readings mean
  • High and low blood sugar
  • Getting the most from monitoring blood sugar at home
  • Effects of daily choices on blood sugar control 

Classes are open to UC Davis Health System Patients and Employees. These classes are offered in the Lawrence J. Ellison Ambulatory Care Center (Ellison Building) in Sacramento and UC Davis Medical Group clinics.
