Investigator Development Core
Investigator Development Core (IDC) members include Charles DeCarli, M.D. (Core Leader); Mary-Lou de Leon Siantz, Ph.D., RN, FAAN; Amparo Villablanca, M.D.
The goal of the IDC is to identify and support excellent researchers focused investigating the many facets of cognitive health among older Latinos through mentoring, training, and leveraging of existing UC Davis resources to advance their academic careers. The IDC will accomplish this overarching goal within the structure of the LARRC “Pipeline for Success” that operates at UC Davis and in collaboration with our Partners in Latino Aging Research. IDC aims include:
- Cultivate and develop a cadre of potential scholars interested in addressing cognitive health and health care disparities among older Latinos.
- Create and implement a structured, sustainable investigator development program for diverse scholars addressing health disparities among older Latinos.
- Foster transition to independent research careers for RCMAR scholars by creating a research infrastructure focused on developing scientists with sustainable programs of research in Latino cognitive health and healthcare disparity issues.
