Department of Internal Medicine

The best minds in medicine need your support!

Less than 5 percent of our current funding is provided by the state government, which faces $14 billion in deficits. We depend upon private funding and philanthropic efforts from individuals, corporations, foundations, service organizations and grateful patients in order to make our vision a reality. The mission and vision of the Department of Internal Medicine are life changing — even life saving. We could not be the preeminent Internal Medicine group in this region without our dedicated and compassionate supporters. If you or your organization already are supporters of Internal Medicine, we offer you our deep gratitude. If you’re interested in joining us, please let us know.

When you support Internal Medicine, you help strengthen:

  • the region's only academic medical center
  • lasting and essential funding for new research endeavors leading to bench-to-bedside breakthrough treatments
  • scholarships for medical students to help fund tuition relief
  • endowed chairs, professorships and fellowships to produce annual income that reinforces our ability to recruit and retain top faculty
  • our goal to advance health both in our local community and around the globe.

Simple ways to give

There are almost as many ways to give to the Department of Internal Medicine as there are programs in need of your support. The best way to give depends on your life circumstances, your financial goals and your philanthropic interests. You can support our fundraising initiatives through:

Cash gifts: Cash gifts can be made by check, credit card or wire transfer.

Gifts of securities: Stocks, mutual funds and bonds can also be donated.

Gifts of real property: We accept real property including land, farms, personal residences, rental and commercial property.

Gifts-in-kind: Tangible, personal property donated for educational purposes, silent or live auctions and other special-event or patient-care needs are accepted.

Matching gifts: Corporations can match their employees' donations dollar-for-dollar.

In addition to outright gifts of cash, securities or property, we welcome:

Pledges: Gifts paid over a term of up to five years. Pledges also may be supplemented by matching gifts.

Tribute gifts: Gifts in memory of a loved one is a thoughtful way to honor that person.

Planned gifts: Common planned giving methods include bequests, charitable remainder trusts and charitable gift annuities. This gift arrangement has specific tax advantages and often include lifetime income to a beneficiary or beneficiaries named by you.

We can also work with your financial planner upon request.
