Sacramento is a great mid-sized city – with minimal traffic, a wonderful downtown, a great restaurant and nightlife scene, and perhaps most significantly – affordable housing (many residents even buy homes here!).
Being at sea level, we have very mild winters, and sunny, non-humid summers. Our warm summer allows comfortable, enjoyable evenings outdoors after work from April to November.
For you Foodies, Sacramento is America’s Farm-to-Fork Capital, with tremendous dining opportunities featuring locally produced ingredients. Sacramento is close to both the Napa and Amador County wineries, offering opportunities for great tasting trips year-round. And for beer-lovers, Sacramento also has a booming microbrewery scene.
World-class performances are showcased at the beautiful UC Davis Mondavi Center, located 20 minutes away on the UC Davis campus. And for sports fans, Sacramento is home to the Sacramento Rivercats (the most popular AAA baseball team in the country), the NBA’s Sacramento Kings, and the Sacramento Republic FC professional soccer team.
Sacramento is also surrounded by some of California’s most popular attractions: Lake Tahoe, the Sierra Nevada Mountains, Yosemite National Park, San Francisco, John Muir Woods, Carmel, Monterey Peninsula, and the “wine country” of the Napa and Sonoma valleys — all within easy driving.
