Community partnerships

Community-based intervention is a key component in the approach to preventing injuries in children and adolescents.  Partnered with education and resources available from academic institutions like the UC Davis Health System, community-based projects can have a significant role in decreasing preventable injuries and deaths among children.   

Our trauma outreach and prevention program began working with Community & Physicians Together (CPT) in 2007 to provide sustainable injury prevention programs in Sacramento and the surrounding communities.  To date we have partnered with seven neighborhood collaboratives to build community centered programs addressing child passenger safety and head injury prevention.   

The success of these partnerships has lead to the establishment of bilingual child passenger fitting stations, neighborhood head injury prevention programs and safety helmet distribution centers.  To learn more about how your community can become involved in injury prevention call our program at 734-9794.

Children First-Flats Network

Harmony Health - Yuba Community Collaborative
The Yuba Community Collaborative is a program of Harmony Health Family Resource Center supporting families in the East Linda community of Marysville.

Meadowview Family Resource Center & The Gardens
Working in the Meadowview area of South Sacramento, the Meadowview FRC offers a home visiting program to pregnant mothers and families with small children.

Mutual Assistance Network
The Mutual Assistance Network of Del Paso Heights is a non-profit community development corporation that utilizes the skills and talents of the residents of the Del Paso Heights neighborhood to strengthen their community.

River Delta Unified School District 
The Healthy Start based at the Bates Elementary school in Courtland offers support to rural and migrant farm worker families in the Sacramento River Delta area.

Sacramento Enriches
Sacramento ENRICHES is a community-based collaborative dedicated to making the well-being of children and youth our community's top priority.

Tahoe Colonial Collaborative
