6th Annual Conference- mHealth (Mobile Health)
Hilton, Arden West, Sacramento, CA
We were so pleased that our 6th Annual Health Informatics Conference held on Friday, March 23, 2012, at the Hilton Sacramento Arden West, was such a success and enjoyed by so many attendees. Our conference theme was 'Mobile Health: Applications for Smart Devices or Mobile Devices' and it was designed to advance competence in health informatics through exposure to applications and systems in clinical, public health, and educational environments.
After a welcome delivered by the UC Davis Chancellor, Linda P.B. Katehi, Dr. Yellowlees welcomed our first keynote speaker, Dr. Steve Steffenson, who gave a well-recieved lecture titled "Mobile Health Research and Development Within the Department of Defense". The second keynote of the day was delivered by Dr. Aaron Bair from UC Davis Health System, and his topic was "Trial and Error: The Development of a Medical Application for the iPhone.
Other conference highlights included a lecture delivered by Donald Jones called "Connecting People to their Health", as well as current graduate student Edwin Bean's presentation "i-Thesis: The Making of a Mobile Research Project". Dr. Alberto Odor delivered his afternoon lecture on "Research Designs in mHealth". These are just a few of the wonderful presentations we had that day, and we couldn't have asked for more engaging and interesting conference speakers.
In addition to the lectures, there was also a student poster session, as well as four informatics "minutes" given by four of the UC Davis Health Informatics Faculty. We will be posting those soon.
Thank you to everyone who attended and particpated in making our 6th Annual Conference such a success! We look forward to seeing you all at next year's conference.Current UC Davis Health Informatics Students and Faculty
