BECOME AN INSTRUCTOR

We believe that offering a broad scope of training opportunities to employees is vital to the success of our organization. We seek enthusiastic employees interested in facilitating various courses offered to UCDHS employees within the following class categories:

  • Administrative Practices
  • Career and Professional Development
  • Communication
  • Computer Applications
  • Customer Service
  • Employment Practices
  • Finance and Accounting
  • Health & Safety
  • Leadership
  • Mandatory Training
  • Personal Effectiveness
  • Supervision and Management
  • UC Benefits

Periodically we have openings for instructors in existing class offerings in cases when the most recent instructor has retired or moved into another role that prevents him/her from continuing as an instructor. We also accept class proposals from instructors who successfully taught courses elsewhere that align with our training objectives.

Training for New Trainers

In order to train courses offered through Human Resources Training and Development, candidates must complete our Train the Trainer course (#07603). This class familiarizes participants with basic Adult Learning Theory; an examination of the differences between delivery and facilitation of program content; strategies for effective class management and assessment of other critical trainer functions.  Candidates may enroll in the course by accessing the UC Learning Center.

Annual Instructors Breakfast

Training & Development offers a series of opportunities for our trainers, including an annual instructors meeting. This meeting provides information, updates and best practices for greater effectiveness.

We also use this opportunity to thank volunteer instructors for their contribution to the Health System’s effort to building a stronger and more effective workforce.
