Early resolution

This is an option that may be used when the parties want to resolve the situation cooperatively or when formal investigation is unlikely to lead to a satisfactory outcome. It may be used for responding to anonymous or third-party reports. It may include an inquiry into the facts but does not include a formal investigation. Steps taken to encourage early resolution and agreements reached through early resolution efforts should be documented.
