The UC Davis Hemostasis and Thrombosis Center Staff Members
The UC Davis Hemostasis and Thrombosis Center (HTC) was founded in 1972 and is one of the first federally-funded HTCs in the United States. Our center is located in the Internal Medicine Department at UC Davis Medical Center, which is the major teaching hospital for the UC Davis School of Medicine and UC Davis Health. Our service area includes Northern and Central California, which covers more than 20 counties. We offer a variety of medical, educational and psychosocial resources to both pediatric and adult patients, and their families.
Our multidisciplinary team of experts have diagnosed and treated the unique clinical characteristics of hemophilia, von Willebrand disease and other inherited bleeding and clotting disorders for more than 50 years. The center's hemostasis laboratory conducts specialized diagnostic testing that is seldom available at outside laboratories or in other clinical settings. Comprehensive services are provided by a specially trained core team experienced in treating bleeding and clotting disorders, including pediatric and adult hematologists, nurse coordinators, social workers and a physical therapist. We collaborate with HIV specialists, hepatologists, orthopedic surgeons, gastroenterologists, a dental hygienist and obstetricians/gynecologists. When necessary, referrals can also be made to outside specialists, with medical coordination by our team.
